Before your request is taken into consideration, may I ask why you believe such a thing to be necessary?

I'm a researcher by nature, and should the opportunity arise, I'd like to take some samples and have something to store them in.

Unfortunately, as such a thing isn't deemed a necessity, your request has been denied - though I can appreciate the sentiment behind asking for such a thing in the first place.
